Light rain falling over Waldo Canyon

Light rain is falling over the Waldo Canyon burn area right now, ahead of more significant rain expected in the coming hours.

News 5 meteorologist Stephen Bowers is tracking a line of storms moving toward Colorado Springs and Pueblo. It's the next round of weather to potentially affect the Black Forest and Waldo Canyon burn areas. However, Bowers says this particular band of showers is moving southwest and may not drop heavy rain over the sensitive areas.

Bowers thinks the I-25 corridor should be in the clear by 8 or 9 a.m. Monday morning, after another round of showers moves across I-25 to the west in the early morning hours.
