10-year old Brody Tate from Fowler is this week's "Brakes Plus Little Athlete."

Brody has been shooting trap for two years with his 20-guage shotgun and he's become quite accomplished. Brody has qualified for state the last two years and he hopes to go to nationals by the time he's 16.

Mastering this sport takes a lot of practice, patience and time but Brody made it sound so easy when he described his technique to News First 5's Jordan Mason. Brody said, "I put my gun on the orange dot and I have to hold it there until I think I can shoot it. So I just pull up my shotgun and then I'll pull it down and then pull it up and then pull it down."

Brody will be in action this weekend competing in the Rocky Mountain State Games in the 14-and under trap shooting at the Pikes Peak Gun Club.
