Live goat found in car trunk at drunk driving checkpoint

Got your goat!

A stop at a drunk-driving checkpoint ended with a surprise for Virginia sheriff's deputies last Friday evening.

When officers approached the car of 32-year-old Fiona Ann Enderly they heard strange noises coming from the trunk.

The deputies asked Enderly about the noise and she confessed that there was a live goat in the trunk.

Enderly told deputies that transporting livestock in car trunks is common in her homeland, the United Kingdom.

She added that the goat had just been purchased as a pet for her four passengers who recently moved to the United States from Kenya.

Enderdy was charged with cruelty to an animal and released.

The goat is currently in the custody of Bedford County Animal Control.
