Local woman wishes she could have done more for husband with P.T.S.D.

A Colorado Springs woman is still recovering from the horrors of domestic violence she experienced last summer. However, Rebecca Granados says she feels like it was her husband's Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder that led to the attack - and more specifically the medications he was taking. Now she wishes she would have paid more attention to her husband's treatment so that she could have done more to help.

"My husband was given sleeping meds; given Ativan, before that given Prozac, and God knows what else," says Granados. "How many other spouses are out there that are dealing with the same situation that I'm dealing with."

A local group, the Equal Justice Foundation, is seeing a possible correlation between military members (veteran and active duty) and domestic violence in El Paso County; he believes P.T.S.D. may be playing a role.

Monday night on News 5 we'll hear Granados' story as well as look into local domestic violence and P.T.S.D. treatment issues locally.
