Officials say a Kansas man has fallen some 300 feet to his death in Rocky Mountain National Park.

The National Park Service says the man fell Saturday afternoon from a ledge on Longs Peak.

The Boulder County coroner identified him Sunday as John M. Regan, 57, of Wichita. An autopsy was scheduled for Monday.

Three hikers on the Keyhole Route of the 14,000-foot peak witnessed the fall, and park rangers were called by cell phone soon after it happened.
