LONGMONT, Colo. (AP) - Dozens of eyes will keep an eye on Boulder Creek and the St. Vrain, Big Thompson and Little Thompson rivers for the next several months.
Greg Berman has recruited about 35 people to his Flood Watch Network, a real-time safety net organized after September's flood forced his entire town to evacuate.
Reports and warnings will be made through the network's Facebook page, and information will be passed to the Lyons Fire Protection District and other participating agencies, as well as to Denver's television networks.
September's floods killed nine people and damaged or destroyed nearly 2,000 homes.
