Man accused of assaults in Wyoming, Colorado

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Authorities have arrested a man suspected of attacking two people in Cheyenne, Wyo., forcing one of them to cross into Colorado and assaulting her again.

Wyoming officials say 23-year-old Anthony M. Gonzales was arrested by Colorado authorities Thursday on suspicion of assault and kidnapping.

The Cheyenne Tribune Eagle reports Gonzalez is suspected of cutting two adults with a box cutter in Cheyenne.

Authorities say he left with one of the adults, a woman, and went to a liquor store, where the woman managed to alert a clerk ,who called 911.

Authorities say the woman was able to get control of the car in Colorado and drive back to Wyoming without Gonzales. It's not clear how.

Colorado authorities say they arrested Gonzales while he was trying to hitch a ride.
