Man critically wounded in stabbing downtown

COLORADO SPRINGS - A man was hospitalized in critical condition after being stabbed multiple times during a fight in Downtown Colorado Springs. It happened at around 5:48 p.m. along East Kiowa Street between Cascade and Tejon.
Officers with the Colorado Springs Police Department Homicide/Assault team say the attacker left the area on foot. The victim was able to flag down a passing ambulance for help.
Kiowa Street was closed for several hours as officers searched for evidence and interviewed wintesses.
The suspect has not yet been indentified and there are conflicting descriptions of what he looked like. Anyone who may have witnessed any part of the incident is encouraged to call the police at 719-444-7000.
