DE BEQUE, Colo. (AP) - A 62-year-old man died from a fall while he was mountain biking in western Colorado.
The Mesa County Coroner's office says Rifle resident Steven D. Chesley died from a blunt-force neck injury after the accident Friday afternoon near De Beque The Grand Junction Daily Sentinel reported Saturday that Chesley was riding with a friend at the time.
Authorities say Chesley was an accomplished mountain biker and was wearing a helmet when he was riding but hit his head with significant force.
The coroner's office says the death was ruled an accident.
