Man fatally shot by police identified

The coroner has identified the person who was shot and killed by police as Christopher Tavares of Colorado Springs. He was 21 years old. The coroner says Tavares died from a gunshot wound to the chest.
The shooting happened overnight near the intersection of Highway 50 and N. Elizabeth St. in Pueblo.
Pueblo police say Tavares fit the description of a man suspected of shooting at police on Craig St. earlier in the night.
Police say the officer tried to stop Tavares and he did not comply.
