Dead man at Pueblo marijuana farm identified

The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office is investigating a suspicious death. A man was found dead Sunday morning at the medical marijuana farm where he worked in Pueblo County. He's been identified as Kenneth Rose, Jr., 53.

Pueblo County Coroner Dr. James Kramer performed an autopsy on Rose Monday. He had been beaten in the head and chest; however, the cause of death has not been determined pending toxicology reports. The death was not due to "natural causes."

Capt. Jeff Teschner says the man was an employee who worked for Michael Stetler. Stetler runs Marisol Therapeutics, a medical marijuana center in Pueblo West.

The man's body was found inside a home on the marijuana farm. Pueblo County Sheriff Kirk Taylor says there were signs of an earlier burglary.  But the time of the burglary and estimated time of death have not been released.

Law enforcement around Colorado has been concerned about an increase in crime resulting from a wave of medical marijuana dispensaries opening across the state. However at this time, there's no evidence to connect the man's death to the medical marijuana business. "We can't say if they're even related," said Capt. Teschner.
