Man refuses to be victimized by would-be mugger at Mountain Shadows Walgreens

A would-be victim refused to hand over his money when an armed attempted mugger tried to hold him up outside a Walgreens in Mountain Shadows Sunday morning.

Colorado Springs police say the incident happened around 9:00 Sunday morning when a man was returning to his car from the Redbox DVD vending machine outside the Walgreens at Centennial Boulevard and Flying W Ranch Road / Vindicator Drive.  A dark-colored Honda pulled up next to the man as he returned to the driver's side of his vehicle.  A man got out of the passenger side of the Honda and demanded money from the man.  When he refused, the would-be mugger pulled out a gun and once again demanded money, but the would-be victim again refused.  The armed man then got back in the passenger side of the Honda, which then drove off south on Centennial Boulevard.

The would-be mugger is described by the victim as a 6-foot-tall white man in his 20s wearing a black stocking cap and a "black sleeveless jacket" with a white shirt underneath.  The Honda had temporary tags.  The would-be victim was unable to get a description of the driver.
