Man shot at Days Inn in El Paso County

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting at the Days Inn off Janitell Road and South Circle Drive; that's near I-25 and the World Arena. Police say they got a call for multiple shots fired around 9:30 PM. When they arrived on the scene they found no victim and no suspects but did locate a trail of blood leading from one of the hotel rooms to the parking lot. A short time later, a gunshot victim showed up at Fort Carson Gate 4; police determined it was the same man who left the hotel. The victim was conscious and speaking but had a gunshot wound to the face. Officials don't know yet if the victim is a Fort Carson soldier; they're still looking for the shooter but don't believe the incident was random.
