Authorities are investigating a suspected illegal marijuana growing operation in the mountains north of Boulder.

The Boulder County sheriff's office said a man fled the area when investigators arrived to do surveillance on Monday. Three SWAT teams and the U.S. Forest Service have been called in to help in the search for suspects.

A hiker discovered the grow last week and notified authorities. It's in a mountainous area near the towns of Riverside and Raymond, west of Lyons.
