Marshall tabbed RMAC defensive player of the week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. ( - Feb. 24, 2014) - After averaging a double-double in two road games last weekend, Colorado State University-Pueblo junior forward Tyrone Marshall (Denver, Colo.) was named as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference/Baden Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.

Marshall tallied 26 points and 20 rebounds for the ThunderWolves in games at Black Hills State and Chadron State over the weekend. He also had five blocked shots and two steals throughout the weekend, recording four blocked shots in Friday's game at Black Hills State. On Saturday, in the Pack's 84-70 win at Chadron State, he recorded his first double-double as a ThunderWolf with 14 points and a career-high 11 rebounds, including 10 on the defensive end as the ThunderWolves held the Eagles to a 35.5 percent (22-62) field goal percentage.

Throughout the season, Marshall has averaged 9.0 points and 4.0 rebounds per game and leads the Pack with his 36 blocked shots and .529 field goal shooting percentage. He stands fourth in the RMAC in blocked shots.

The Pack now sport 14-10 overall and 12-8 RMAC records heading into the final weekend of the regular season. On Friday, the Pack host the nation's top-ranked Metro State Roadrunners (23-1, 20-0 RMAC) and will then close out the season against Regis (7-18, 4-16 RMAC) on Saturday. Both games tip-off in Massari Arena at 7:30 p.m.
