Mesa County sheriff not a fan of Dog the Bounty Hunter

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) - The Mesa County Sheriff's Office has a bone to pick with Duane "Dog" Chapman.

The sheriff's office says Chapman got a scuffle with a fugitive on Wednesday and used pepper spray while apprehending Andrew Distel.

Mesa County court records show Distel had warrants out for his arrest for failure to appear on two felony cases, both involving possession of methamphetamine. Bonds totaled more than $25,000.

The sheriff's office had to decontaminate public entrances, according to the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel.

Chapman and his team did not return an email seeking comment Thursday.
