Metal found in store bought lipstick

A small study of store-bought lipstick suggests the makeup may be doing more than giving the appearance of plump, shiny lips.

It could be increasing your exposure to toxic metals.

Researchers at the University of California Berkeley tested over thirty different lipsticks and lip glosses, looking at the amount of metal each contained, like lead, cadmium, chromium and aluminum.

They found average use of lipstick could increase the amount of chromium in the blood, which has been linked to stomach tumors.

They add it may not be harmful for adults over time, but it needs to be kept away from children.
