Mobile facility offers dog and cat daycare

For evacuees, going about your daily lives can be difficult, especially if you have pets.

A mobile unit of North Shore Animal League America from New York is parked at the recovery center on Spruce.

They've helped out in several disasters, including Hurricane Katrina.

From free pet food to care in an air conditioned, mobile facility, they can take care of pets for a day or even just a few minutes while an evacuee runs an errand.

"It's a thing that we like to offer people just so they can have a little more comfort with everything that's been going on," said Daniel McNena, an onsite team member for North Shore Animal League America.

They say they'll be there as long as they're needed, and if you'd like to help you can take them dog or cat food.
