TODAY: If you liked the warm weather over the weekend you will love today! Mostly sunny skies all day and temps that will be just a few degrees cooler than yesterday. Colorado Springs 70 today and 76 in Pueblo. Winds will be fairly light during most of the day...a touch breezy late this afternoon. You might notice a few gusts over 20 mph from the southwest...especially near Walsenburg and Trinidad.
TONIGHT: Another chilly night expected...lows will fall into the mid 40's in the Springs to around 40 in Pueblo. Skies will be mostly clear to partly cloudy.
TUESDAY: As a big storm system approaches from the west we'll see temps and wind speeds increase eastern Colorado. Temps in the mid 70's in the Springs and lower 80's in Pueblo. West/southwest winds will increase tomorrow to about 15-25 mph for all of us. Skies will be sunny to mostly sunny again.
WEDNESDAY: More ‘warm before the storm' weather expected for the Front Range. Winds will be gusty again at times as that storm system and a cold front start to roll through the state. The high in Colorado Springs 70 and in Pueblo 77. During the day there will be rain and snow showers across the mountains as the storm progresses...things will feel much more like fall/winter here after midnight.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Behind that front it will be MUCH colder and breezy overnight. Upslope conditions will start to take over as the cold air moves-in...meaning we'll start to see low clouds develop. There will also be a slight chance of a few very light rain or snow showers close to the mountains and higher elevations.
THURSDAY: Much colder, cloudier with a chance of rain and snow showers of the season will be more likely. High temps will only reach 40 degrees in Colorado Springs and 45 in Pueblo! Wind chill values during the day will make it feel even colder. Rain and snow becomes more likely after mid-morning and during the afternoon and evening. Accumulations of snow are most likely over the higher elevations...including Teller County and northern El Paso County. Because of the much colder air it will even be possible by evening & overnight for snow to fall in Colorado Springs, Pueblo and the rest of the lower elevations. Accumulations....if any, would likely be light.
FRIDAY: We start the day with a chance of some lingering light snow showers and very cold temps! High temps will only make it to 36 in Colorado Springs and 39 in Pueblo! Brrr... Later in the afternoon skies will become partly cloudy and any lingering morning showers will have dissipated. The clearing skies will set us up for a VERY cold night Friday with lows expected to bottom-out in the teens!
SATURDAY: A very cold start expected to what will be a mostly sunny and chilly day. Temps will come up a little for all of us with highs in Colorado Springs of 41 and 43 Pueblo.
SUNDAY: We'll end the weekend with a very sunny and much milder day. Max temps will reach 56 in Colorado Springs and 59 in Pueblo.
