A massage therapist has been charged with felony sexual assault after a woman says he performed sex acts on her.
Since the story has come out, police say more possible victims have come forward and there may be more out there.
According to the affidavit, a 24-year-old Denver woman came to Colorado Springs for a "relaxing" getaway. She booked a session at Springs Best Massage and claims she was sexually assaulted by her masseuse Shannon Atkinson.
The woman tells police that after doing the initial paperwork, her 90-minute session began. She says after massaging her back, she turned over. Atkinson began performing sex acts on her while complimenting her beauty. The report says the woman did not protest or fight back because she was "froze out of fear" - something police say is common these types of situations.
The woman says, once Atkinson finished, she got dressed and paid for the $105 massage with her debit card. Then, she immediately contacted CSPD.
When police questioned Atkinson, he allegedly admitted to performing the sex acts.
According to the Springs Best Massage website, both Atkinson and his wife, who own the business, are experienced "master massage therapists."
Investigators have received about a dozen phone calls in regards to the case and are still asking for anyone with more information to come forward.
