Motorcyclist dies in northeast Colorado Springs crash

A motorcyclist died Saturday evening when his motorcycle went off Rangewood Drive near Austin Bluffs Parkway and crashed.  The accident happened around 7:40 p.m.  Colorado Springs police say the rider was traveling eastbound on Rangewood between Austin Bluffs and Saddle Rock Drive when he went off the road and struck a tree.  Two Memorial Hospital nurses were first to come upon the scene and rendered first aid until paramedics could arrive.  The rider was not wearing a helmet.  Speed is considered to be a factor.  It is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash.  The victim's identity has not been released.
