About 530 soldiers are scheduled to return to Fort Carson. The Mountain Post has two home coming ceremonies planned for the weekend.

300 1st Brigade Combat Team soldiers are set for the first ceremony, planned for 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Mountain Post's Special Events Center. Another group of 230 soldiers should be welcomed home at 3 p.m. Sunday.

These soldiers worked to rebuild the Afghanistan's infrastructure and strengthen governmental operations. They also worked closely with Afghan National Security Forces, providing assistance to the Afghan government through combat troops, close air support, mine clearance and medical support according to a release from Fort Carson's Public Affairs Office.

Among the groups accomplishments in the region were several major road improvement projects and increased output at two power generation plants.

Times for the home coming ceremonies can change; we'll keep you post on koaa.com.
