Mountain storms, but mainly dry elsewhere

Humidity near the ground will help to generate afternoon thunderstorms in the mountains, but lower humidity up above the ground will prevent showers from developing for areas along and east of I-25. The best chance for rain is well west of our area, but a spotty thunderstorm can form in far western El Paso, Teller, and Fremont counties.

High temperatures today will be in the mid-to-upper 80's around the Palmer Divide, including Colorado Springs, and in the low-to-mid 90's from the Arkansas River south along I-25 and east into the Southeastern Plains.
