Movie documents families lives after Columbine

DENVER (AP) - A movie opening in Denver this week documents the different ways that families who lost loved ones at Columbine have coped with their loss.

Five years in the making, the film "13 Families" is the work of Nicole Corbin, Steve LuKanic, and Mark Katchur. Corbin and LuKanic came up with the idea after helping produce an hour-long TV program looking at the April 20,1999, tragedy.

Family members in the film introduce loved ones in their own words and then describe their individual journeys and frustrations, including the reality of grieving in public.

The film does not include pictures of Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, reflecting frustration expressed by families at the attention focused on the teenage gunmen.
