MUCH warmer & sunnier today

TODAY: When it comes to Colorado weather....what a difference a day can make! Yesterday it was cloudy and cold with temps only of 33 in the Springs and 42 in Pueblo. Today will be MUCH warmer and MUCH sunnier! How about afternoon temps of 61 in Colorado Springs and 66 in Pueblo. Enjoy!

TONIGHT: Starry skies and not quite as cold. Temps fall to a milder 37 in Canon City, 36 for the Springs, 34 at Ft. Carson and 31 in Pueblo.

THURSDAY-FRIDAY: And the warming trend continues....big time! Sunny to mostly sunny skies expected with temps way warmer than average for all of eastern Colorado. High temps Thursday will reach 66 in Colorado Springs and 71 for Pueblo and Pueblo West! If you think that sounds about the weather on Friday. Lower 70's for the Springs and middle 70's for Ft. Carson. Pueblo, La Junta and Lamar will be in the upper 70's to near 80! The big warm-up here is a product of an approaching Pacific storm system headed our way from the northwest. By Friday evening that storm will start to bring another round of a few light snow showers to the high country.

SATURDAY-SUNDAY: Quiet start to the weekend, but later in the day a cool front arrives with that wave of energy from the Pacific that will drop some more light snow in the mountains for weekend skiing or boarding. Only light accumulations are expected. After 1 or 2 PM we could see a light rain shower or two at the lower elevations. Chances are only about 20% for most of us...but it is at least something for us to watch. Chances for showers will stick around into the evening and for early Sunday morning. As temps drop Saturday night any showers will likely be falling as snow. Across the Rampart Range/Teller County and the mountains west of I-25 we'll have about a 30% chance of a few showers Saturday and Saturday night. It will be a bit cooler both days with temps about 10-15 degrees cooler for the weekend compared to the spring-like weather on Friday.

MONDAY: That weak storm heads-out and leaves behind plenty of sun and a slightly cooler day to start the new week. Mostly sunny skies and high temps of around 54 for Colorado Springs and right around 60 in Pueblo, Canon City and La Junta.

TUESDAY: Abundant sunshine and even warmer with temps at least 4-5 degrees above the highs on Monday.
