For the third time this season, CSU-Pueblo junior Katie Nehf (Broomfield, Colo.) has been named as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference/Baden Women's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week.
The announcement was made Monday after Nehf helped lead the Pack to road wins at New Mexico Highlands and Western New Mexico over the weekend. On Friday, in a 67-51 win at New Mexico Highlands, Nehf had a blocked shot, a steal and five defensive rebounds (6 total). She then tallied two blocked shots, four steals and eight rebounds, including four of the defensive variety, in Saturday's 66-57 win at Western New Mexico.
Offensively, Nehf scored 24 points over the weekend, including 18 in Saturday's win over the Mustangs.
The 6-foot-2 post player was also named as the RMAC Defensive Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks on Dec. 9 and Dec. 16. She is the conference's only 3-time recipient of the award this season.
The Pack currently sport a 16-5 overall record and are solidly in second place in the 14-team conference with a 13-2 league mark. They have won four straight games, the second longest winning streak in the conference.
CSU-Pueblo has just one game this week, that coming Saturday at 5:30 p.m. when the Pack will visit the Colorado Springs City Auditorium to face the UC-Colorado Springs Mountain Lions (7-12, 6-9 RMAC) Mountain Lions.
