New business plan in Manitou Springs includes weather alert radios

The threat of flashfloods because of the Waldo Canyon Fire has prompted a new tool for doing business in Manitou Springs. There are at least 50 weather alert radios inside Manitou businesses so staff can alert visitors of any potential flash flood dangers.

The towns Chamber of Commerce made weather alert radios available to local businesses for a discounted price. "We don't want any kind of incident that creates an unsafe reputation for the community and has a long term impact," said Manitou Springs Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Leslie Lewis. After the recent floods they were quickly gone.
