Newtown parents describe meeting with Lanza's dad

NEWTOWN, Conn. (AP) - The parents of one of the 20 first-graders killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre say they had an emotional meeting recently with the killer's father and expressed condolences to each other, but they're not angry at him and don't believe he should be blamed for his son's actions.

Alissa and Robbie Parker described the meeting in an excerpt of an interview that aired Friday on "CBS This Morning," but didn't reveal what the killer's father, Peter Lanza, told them.

The Parkers' 6-year-old daughter, Emilie, died in December's shooting rampage. They wanted to meet with Peter Lanza because he was the only person who could answer questions about the 20-year-old shooter, Adam Lanza, who also killed himself and his mother.

Peter Lanza has declined to comment about the meeting.
