No NY claim on cat missing 5 years from Colorado

NEW YORK (AP) - There's no custody fight so far over Willow, the cat who was found on a New York street five years after disappearing from Colorado.

New York's animal-shelter agency says it seems the calico cat had some human care in recent days. But no one is claiming ownership besides a family in Boulder, Colo.

Willow, who was found on East 20th Street on Wednesday, was linked to the family by an embedded microchip.

The animal agency says Willow would probably have been dirty, scabby and flea-ridden if she'd spent much time on the street.

Instead, she's well-fed and her coat looks good. An official even described her as chunky.

The Colorado family plans to bring Willow home once she's
cleared for travel.
