No one injured in gravel accident on I-25

A truck drops a load of gravel on Interstate 25 causing a dangerous chain reaction for drivers.

State troopers say the gravel spilled on I-25 northbound near exit 106 around 10 Monday morning just north of Pueblo, and it caught drivers off-guard.

"It had quite a chain reaction," said Trooper Kevin Betts of Colorado State Patrol. "We had calls of several vehicles that were spinning out. Other vehicles that were calling in saying they had broken windshields. We did have one vehicle that ran off the right side of the roadway and rolled."

State troopers say the driver of the truck left the scene before they arrived.

He came back later and was cited for spilling his load.

He works for City Brokers LLC out of Colorado Springs.

Luckily no one was injured.
