The men's winner of the U.S. Figure Skating Championships lives and trains in Colorado Springs with the Broadmoor Skating Club. Just days after taking the top spot Max Aaron has little time to reflect on his win, the 20 year old is already back on the practice ice in Colorado Springs.
He was the dark-horse winner, out scoring numerous others who were favored to win. Now, there is a buzz about his future and the Olympics next year in Sochi Japan.
Max isn't making that jump yet, instead he is focusing on representing the United States in international competition this year. "In a program why think about the last jump when you're still on the first. It's the same thing; why think about the Olympics when we're not very close yet," said Aaron.
His return to Colorado Springs is a one week pit-stop. He leaves for the Four Continents Competition in Japan on Monday. The World Championships are in March.
