Authorities say no one survived a crash of a small plane on Rollins Pass.
A spokeswoman for the Gilpin County Sheriff's office, Cherokee Blake, said Thursday that the single-engine, two-seat plane was burned so severely that investigators haven't been able to determine the identities of the passengers or how many were on board. The sheriff's office received a call at about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday about smoke on Rollins Pass Road between Nederland and Winter Park.
U.S. Forest Service employees found the plane. It's unclear where the plan was going or where it originated. Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Mike Fergus says investigators are also working to gather information about the crash.
