Obama to meet with Netanyahu, Iran likely topic

WASHINGTON (AP) - Iran will likely be a testy topic when President Barack Obama meets Monday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Their meeting comes as a three-decade estrangement between the U.S. and Iran may be nearing an end.

As he left Israel on Sunday, Netanyahu said he would - quote - "tell the truth in the face of the sweet talk."

Obama spoke Friday with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in the first direct conversation between the two countries' leaders since 1979.

The 15-minute phone call was a watershed diplomatic moment that suggests Rouhani wants to re-engage the West.

But it also irritated Israel, a U.S. ally that has declared an Iranian nuclear program unacceptable.
