Offender walk-away from minimum level facility

Colorado Springs, CO - The Colorado Department of Corrections confirms an offender walked away from the minimum level facility located near Golden, CO - Colorado Correctional Center, also known as Camp George West.

Offender Kenneth Gomez DOC# 136052 is a low custody, minimum classified, offender working as a mechanic in the Colorado State Patrol Garage at the Colorado State Patrol Academy located on the grounds of Camp George West. Offender Gomez is a Hispanic male with brown eyes and black hair. Offender Gomez is 30 years old with a date of birth of 11/26/1982. He is approximately 5'4" tall and weighs 150 pounds.

Offender Gomez has a tattoo on the right side of his neck that says "Jester" another on the left side of his neck that says "Josiah". He also has tattoos on his right upper arm, "Eye of Ra", right lower arm, "Destiney", left lower inside arm, "Evageline", chest "Amorina" and back "Brandie."

Offender Gomez was convicted out of Jefferson County in 2011 on charges of Burglary and Disturbing the Public Peace. Gomez was sentenced to 5 years on these charges.

During the 10:15 a.m. formal count, the offender was not accounted for. At this time, a red service vehicle belonging to the Colorado State Patrol Garage is unaccounted for.

Local law enforcement has been advised of the walk away and the Colorado Department of Corrections is cooperating with all law enforcement agencies to locate this offender.
