One dead in overnight shooting in Security-Widefield

One person is dead after a shooting in the 6500-block of President Ave. in Security-Widefield late Saturday night.
The El Paso County Sheriff's office received multiple 911 calls of shots fired shortly after 11 p.m. When deputies arrived on scene they found a man dead from gunshot wounds at one of the homes.
Several people involved in the incident are being interviewed, investigators told News 5 they're confident no suspect is on the loose and that there is no threat to public safety.
The shooting is still under investigation.
"For us the investigation is very early on so we're still gathering information as to what occurred here," explained Lieutenant Jeff Kramer. "Those efforts are going to continue through the night and probably well into tomorrow as well before we have some additional answers as far as what did happen."
