The La Junta fire chief confirms that one of the escaped inmates from the Otero County jail is in custody.
Curtis Apodaca, is one of four inmates who escaped from the jail last night. Deputies say two of the men rushed a guard to get out of their cell.
They then reportedly opened another cell door and let out two more inmates. Afrter fighting with another deputy, they were able to get out of the building and ditch their clothes at the La Junta rail yards.
The three men still on the loose are, Angel Castrejon, Johnny Nunez and Malcom Hoffert.
