Overhaul of Medical Marijuana Regulations in El Paso County

El Paso County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on medical marijuana regulations next week.
The legislature passed a law this year requiring medical marijuana dispensaries to obtain state and local licensing approval and to be in compliance with all local zoning codes. Next week's hearing is the first step of the process to develop local licensing procedures and regulations as well as zoning and land use regulations.
It will be held July 13, at 9 a.m. in the third floor Hearing Room at the County Office Building at 27 East Vermijo, Colorado Springs.
Several Colorado communities have banned medical marijuana dispensaries since the law was enacted.
