Pants on the floor results in arrest

A woman awoke inside her home on Pueblo's east side to a man staring her in the face around 3 o'clock Tuesday morning.  Irene Vigil said she awoke when she "felt" someone next to her.  According to police, the man's face was "right next to hers."

Vigil woke up her boyfriend who said he saw someone in the doorway of the bathroom and "asked him what he was doing there."  The intruder said he didn't know and ran out the front door, which had been broken down.  Left behind were a pair of shoes and pants.

Outside officers found tracks in the snow that lead down Nelson Avenue to a cellar.  Inside they found a man matching the description given by Vigil and her boyfriend.  Blake Benegas, 18, was arrested on a burglary and criminal mischief charge.  He told police he had been partying, and denied breaking into Vigil's apartment.
