Pine Creek teacher is our April award winner

Congratulations to Pine Creek High School history teacher Heidi Rickard for being selected as the winner of our April Teachers First Award.  Heidi has taught history and social science classes at the school for the last 10 years.

Additionally, principal Jill Martin tells New First 5 that Heidi extends her work outside the classroom through the Life 101 club which meets weekly to give students encouragement and the Eyes Wide Open program which encourages students to learn about and become involved in local and global issues.

I'm headed to Pine Creek this morning to meet with Heidi. We'll post her full Teacher's First Report here later today, and you can also watch the video tonight on News First 5 at 5:00.

The school year may be winding down, but there is still time to nominate a deserving teacher. Click here to download the application packet.
