Pit bull involved in attack will be euthanized

The owner of a pit bull that bit a 9-month-old girl surrendered the dog to the Pikes Peak Humane Society for euthanization.
According the the El Paso County Sheriff's office, the dog belonged the the baby's grandfather. He was cited for unlawful ownership of a dangerous animal. The little girl was bit in the face and sustained serious injuries. We are told those injuries are non-life threatening.
The attack happened Sunday at a home near Yoder.
