Opening day is still a week away but the Colorado Rockies have already made history by bringing left handed pitcher Jamie Moyer into the starting rotation. At 49 years old, Moyer is now in a position to become the oldest pitcher ever to win a major league game.

According to Denver Post, Moyer will pitch second in the Rockies rotation behind Jeremy Guthrie and ahead of Juan Nicasio and Jhoulys Chacin. His first game in a Rockies uniform is scheduled for Saturday April 7 in Houston.

Moyer came to Colorado from the Phillies where he sat out last season for Tommy Johns surgery. The current record holder for oldest pitcher to win a game is Jack Quinn who won three with the 1932 Brooklyn Dodgers.
