Police arresting check fraud theft suspect find dynamite

Colorado Springs police have arrested a person in connection with an investigation into a series of crimes including theft of mail, check fraud, forgeries, burglaries of homes, businesses and motor vehicles and narcotic related crimes.

Police say 43-year-old Arthur Ray Hickmon was taken into custody Thursday at 3450 Parkmoor Village Dr. Apt. B for check fraud and un unidentified female was taken into custody on an unrelated warrent.

While at the Parkmoor Village address detectives discovered what appeared to be several sticks of dynamite. The apartment was evacuated and the bomb squad was called in to remove the dynamite for safe disposal.

The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted in partnership with the US Secret Service, US Post Office and the El Paso County Sheriff's Department.

 

The investigations often involved the same group of individuals loosely connected for the purpose of furthering their criminal activities.
