Police called to Springs apartments 11 times a week

COLORADO SPRINGS - The Colorado Springs apartment complex where a dead man was found Tuesday morning is very familiar to the police. His body was lying in the parking lot of the El Vecino Apartments when officers arrived at 7:01 a.m. They quickly spotted signs of trauma. His name and official cause of death have not yet been released.

The News 5 Guardians examined police department call data and found officers responded to the five buildings that make up the El Vecino Apartments an average of 11 times a week. The police responded to 246 calls for service to the complex between September 1 and January 28.

A break down of the calls to each individual building is as follows:

1802 Monterey Road - 52 calls
1806 Monterey Road - 57 calls
1810 Monterey Road - 44 calls
2709 Arlington Drive - 80 calls
2713 Arlington Drive - 13 calls

Owner Terrance Ragan of EV Apartments LLC paid $25,945 taxes on the property in 2013.
