PUEBLO - The Pueblo Police Department is publicly thanking members of the community for following the fire ban and not lighting fireworks last night. In a news release, the officers estimate they received around 100 fireworks calls which they say is a significant drop over previous years.
"The Pueblo Police Department would like to thank the responsible members of the Pueblo community who did their part in assisting the city with its efforts to keep everyone safe during this dry season," the statement reads.
Officers only wrote four tickets and many reported the use of fireworks being nothing like what they had experienced in years past.
