Police find Saturday night shooting victim, still looking for shooter

Colorado Springs police are saying more about an investigation they were conducting into a shooting Saturday night. It was in the 1200 block of Rockwood Ave., just west of the Lake Ave. exit on I-25.

Neighbors had reported hearing three gunshots. Police say a man was seen limping away from the area. He was gone by the time police arrived.

Later Police were notified by a local hospital that a man with an apparent gunshot wound to his right knee was admitted. The man said he had met a man online and agreed to meet him in the Rockwood Ave. area. The injured man told police the man tried to rob him.

The injured man described the man who tried to rob him as black, 6', wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans at the time. The man is possibly driving a light colored cross-over type vehicle.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
