A shooting this morning in Colorado Springs kills one male in his 20's.
Police received calls of shots fired in the area of Vermijo and Chestnut at around 5 a.m., followed by a call from the hospital saying a man checked in, dying from a gunshot wound. They believe a physical fight turned deadly when the victim reported jumped into a car to leave. That's when they say the gunman continued to shoot at the fleeing vehicle. One of the two people in the car was hit and taken to Penrose Main Hospital where he was pronounced dead within ten minutes.
All Saturday, investigators searched Sin City Disciples, a motorcycle club where they believe the fight began. Sin City Disciples say, though the fight took place in their vicinity, it had nothing to do with them.
Police have also spoken to the driver who rushed the victim to the hospital, but incident still remains a mystery. "We're still trying to figure out who the victim was, what his relationship was to the party or the clubhouse, who was at the clubhouse during the time that this happened," said Lieutenant Mark Comte from the Colorado Springs Pd's Investiation division, "So we still have a lot of people we have to talk to we just haven't gotten to that point yet."
Authorities are not yet releasing the name of the victim and they say they don't have suspects yet. So they are asking anyone with more information to call them at 444-7000.
