Police say high homicide rate is 'disheartening' and 'dangerous'

Colorado Springs Police say breaking the city's record for the most homicides in one year is disheartening and dangerous. This after they arrested a teenager in connection with the shooting death of the year's 29th homicide victim. Police say Danny Fields,18, of Peyton shot Zechariah Gardner, 20, multiple times leading to his death last night near Fountain Blvd. and Chelton Rd. Today Lt Adrien Vasquez says it's disheartening to see such young men involved in such a serious crime and so many people this year resorting to such a high level of violence. Vasquez also says the violence creates a heightened sense of danger for the force responding to the violence and stretched thin to investigate the murders.
