Police say running red light cause of serious accident

An accident in the north part of Colorado Springs caused backups for nearly an hour this morning.

The accident happened around 7 Monday morning at the intersection of Interquest Pkwy and Market Center Pt. Police say a car ran a red light and collided with a truck, flipping the truck on its side.

The driver of the truck driver was trapped and had to be extricated, and was transported to a hospital, but no other information was release on their condition.

The driver of the car was not injured and will be ticketed according to police.
