Police search for two in credit card fraud

The Colorado Springs Police Department Financial Crimes Unit is asking for help in identifying two suspects in several credit card fraud cases.

Banks in the Denver area have experienced a pattern of theft involving two women in their mid-20s.  Now one of the suspects has been seen at three Colorado Springs banks.

They are known to drive a late model Ford Edge with temporary tags.  They may also be with two other people.

Both women are reported to be nicely dressed.  They enter a financial institution and present a credit card and ask for a cash advance.  As the teller begins the process they will offer to phone the card issuer for a code.  The woman is actually calling a pharmacy with a prescription number.  The woman then turns the phone over to the teller and asks that the teller push the redial number.  A recorded voice then speaks a verification code.  Sometimes the teller is fooled and turns over some cash.

If you have any information on these suspects, you are asked to call the Colorado Springs Police Department at 719-444-7000.
