Police shoot truck driver after hitting officer, dragging another

FEDERAL HEIGHTS, Colo. (AP) - A truck driver was shot and a police officer has been hospitalized after an officer was hit and another officer was dragged by the truck.

Federal Heights police say a woman called police early Wednesday to tell them a man in a truck was following her. The driver was contacted and one officer was hit while the truck was pulling away and the other was dragged.

The extent of the injuries was not known.

According to KMGH-TV the Adams County Sheriff's Office is handling the investigation.
